This is why I said I don't understand the topic in the first place. If he's trying to prove that we can't disprove him, we're just beating a dead horse. Of course we can't. I think any kindergardener would understand that. But, if he's trying to justify his position by saying we can't disprove it, that's a logical fallacy. So either way... this argument is going to go nowhere. o.o The Topic and its logical reasoning may be extreamly flawed but it got many to think abit more then ususal, which is where I think the merit lies. Or it could just be that we've got a bunch of people who like arguing over nothing =p

And fun, apparently, for the people involved, cuz you're all still doing it ^^ I'm not criticizing, just observing.

Many? Who are you talking about here? I've already thought about this kind of thing many times before... I take philosophy classes and read philosophy books... so this is nothing unusual for me. And I highly doubt it's unusual for VisibleDucts either, seeing as he's a soon to be philosophy major. Or it could just be that we've got a bunch of people who like arguing over nothing =p Perhaps that may be the case but it has forced people to get out of their ususal thinking complexes and into another way of thinking, which I think is productive. Again, who? O.o It would be getting me to think out side of my usual thinking complexes if I were arguing a different side; I've had these kinds of arguments many times before and I expect to have them many times in the future, and I've always taken the same stance. Or it could just be that we've got a bunch of people who like arguing over nothing =p You're brilliant. You're Elvis.

For some reason I thought someone had posted again after me. o.o Odd. Anyway, I'm just using me as an example. WHO is the general audience you keep talking about? That's what I don't understand. You mean the people who haven't participated in this thread? Because all the people that are doing so have had these kinds of debates before (at least, it seems like you and the original poster have, and I know VisibleDucts, Sporkurai, and I have). I'm just confused as to who's benefitting from this... it seem like nobody is, but you keep talking about the general audience is and I don't know who that is?

General audience as in future partpiates that arnt quite aware of the sematics of the concepts and conficts covered in this topic, and also there is no way for sure that when this argument developed that I knew all those people have done simlar, so im sorry but i cant read minds like yourself so forgive me.lol
